Understand the Demo’s level 6 boundary

Evidence checked November 3, 2026 (Pacific) · PC Demo and announced release; original source dates retained

The short answer

The official Demo announcement includes the first playable location and character progression up to level 6. Reaching that announced boundary is different from losing progress or failing to find an upgrade station. Update 1.01 says the manor’s Circle of Knowledge is available from the beginning.

Check the edition before diagnosing a cap

These limits come from the June 11 Demo announcement, reread on November 3. The full game was still listed for a November 6 release at that check. Do not turn the Demo’s level 6 boundary into a claim about the full game’s maximum level. Nor does the announcement promise that every later build will present the same cap message.

The Circle of Knowledge is an upgrade area

The developer describes the Circle of Knowledge as the manor area for upgrading the player. The June 19 update makes it available initially. Return to the hub and inspect that service and your current character’s upgrade prompts; a locked production station and an unavailable character upgrade are different problems. No complete skill-cost table or optimal point allocation has been verified here.

Choose the next useful goal

  • At level 6 in the Demo: work on an existing equipment or exploration goal rather than looking for an unsupported cap bypass.
  • Below 6, but unable to buy an upgrade: record the requirement actually shown, your level and the edition/build. Do not assume a level cap is responsible.
  • Your level is lower after reopening: use the save checks; that is a persistence question.

Why a first clear can finish below level 6

The cap is not a promise that one clear immediately reaches it. On October 14 the developer described first-location balance as reaching level 2 and potentially level 3; an October 18 player reported finishing it at level 3 on normal. Those are dated Demo statements, not current per-enemy XP values or a guaranteed leveling route. Distinguish a disappointing pace from a missing upgrade prerequisite or an actual cap, and use the replay rules for a return visit.

Continue without replacing your run

You can review replay behavior, improve your supported equipment setup or explore what your build already makes accessible. None of those is a promise of further Demo levels. If continuity into the full release matters, read the developer’s transfer and achievement warning before changing files.

You have identified the boundary when…

You know your edition, current level and the exact upgrade requirement or message. An announced Demo limit, a missing prerequisite and a lost save need different next steps.
