Progress & exploration

Continue the run you already have, understand the Demo boundary, or prepare a return trip. Choose the goal before starting a new character or replacing files.

Choose the next step for your run

Normal exit is the documented way to preserve current Demo progress. Level 6 is the announced Demo boundary. Replaying a location and moving a character into another edition are separate tasks with different version limits.

Before your next trip

  1. Know the edition and build you are running; a new announcement is not proof that your installed copy has updated.
  2. Keep gear you want at the estate using the storage answer.
  3. Choose a compatible weapon set and check your potion supply before a repeat encounter.
  4. Use the current location and inventory as your own before/after reference. Do not call a random loot result a guaranteed farm.

If progress looks wrong

A different resumed character, a one-time intro without a character, a New Game exterior spawn and an announced level cap have different explanations. Preserve the current files while identifying the case. A backup is not an independent in-game manual slot.

What is known about the first location?

The official Demo announcement includes the first playable location and progression to level 6. Version 1.06 adds a secret place there; a developer reply confirms the requested climb/loot area was implemented. An exact verified route is not available here, so the October tour should not be treated as a 1.06 secret-area walkthrough. Read the dated exchange.

Difficulty, length and starting over

The October 23 developer reply estimates a fairly quick full playthrough at 6–10 hours and warns that players often take longer than expected. That is an estimate, not our measured completion time or a reason to rush. The same reply says there is no permanent character death then; a possible hardcore mode is a proposal. The developer also describes the first location as intentionally easier. Original answer.
