Elven Huntress: Sunveil · Field guide

Combat & survival

Start with what the character actually does: an incompatible pair, an invisible set, a partial block and a delayed damage effect need different checks.

Find the branch that matches the action

Check the pair and the drawn set before diagnosing a bug. Then use your displayed version to distinguish historical input changes from the result you see now.

Three checks before changing the build

  1. Read both weapon types, not only their icons.
  2. Confirm the intended equipment is active and drawn.
  3. Describe the observed action precisely: roll, partial damage, frozen pose, absent model or an unavailable menu action.

A block is not necessarily immunity

Version 1.04 lists 50% absorption for swords. The October 24 developer reply says shields have a higher value shown on each shield. Read the item’s value; neither statement makes every attack harmless. Version 1.06 adds stamina without a complete cost/timing table in the reviewed notes.

Camera style belongs to targeting, not equipment

If attacks respond to movement direction rather than camera direction, inspect Free Camera in Melee Combat. Changing sensitivity will not by itself change that targeting rule. If a gamepad cannot equip an item, use the interface diagnosis before assuming the combat mechanic is broken.

Keep a useful record of an unresolved result

Record build, edition, device, pair and the action observed. For magic, include learned level and whether you read an upgrade screen or an actual cast. These guides explain dated sources; they do not claim a universal fix or an optimal build.
