Check potion slots, inventory counts and stack limits

Evidence checked November 3, 2026 (Pacific) · PC Demo and announced release; original source dates retained

The short answer

Version 1.04 preassigns health and mana potions to quick-use slots; 1.05 raises their stack size to 30. A slot assignment, the number of potions actually owned and the ability to split a stack are separate questions.

Identify the potion before a difficult fight

  1. Check whether you need health or mana and whether that potion is actually present in inventory.
  2. Compare its inventory quantity with the quick-use slot shown by your current build.
  3. Use the interaction prompt for your current input device. The patch does not supply a universal keyboard/controller binding table.
  4. If you try a potion, compare the resulting quantity and relevant resource. This is a check of your own run, not a claimed test by this site.

What the stack of 30 tells you

The 1.05 change concerns health and mana potion stack capacity. It does not establish stack sizes for every crafting material or a method of separating arbitrary quantities. The October 24 developer reply said stacks could not be split then; the reviewed later notes do not confirm that splitting was added. Do not turn the cap into a promise of unlimited carrying space.

Recipes changed; old quantities may not apply

The same 1.05 update changes crafting/alchemy recipes and materials. Follow the current recipe displayed in your build rather than an old ingredient count. We do not publish an unverified complete potion recipe table. Excess inventory can be managed separately using estate storage.

If the slot does not behave as expected

Separate an empty inventory, a different potion type, an input that does nothing and a resource already at its current limit. If the problem occurs in a gamepad menu, compare the dated controller report and 1.06 navigation change. A cooldown-based skill and a mana-consuming magic weapon also need different interpretation; see the magic-stat explanation.

Your supplies are ready when…

You can identify the needed potion, its actual count and its current quick-use prompt. The stack capacity alone does not prove that a potion was consumed or its effect applied.

Sources & version

Source-based explanation; no independent gameplay or file-transfer test. Original source dates retain their scope. Later notes establish the changes they explicitly describe; silence is not proof that every mechanic stayed identical.
